If you find a free moment in a typically busy day at Eastern Hospitality Advisors to ask Kathy if she enjoys her job, you'll get a resounding, energetic "yes." But then she's right back to answering calls, in between dealing with fellow employee needs and all other office coordination.
She'll jokingly tell you she "lives in the office." From the copy machine to the supply closet, Kathy and her years of experience in the construction business handles it all for EHA.
Calling herself a "Jill of All Trades," when interviewing for the Executive Assistant job, she likened herself to Radar from M*A*S*H, looking out for her co-workers and always putting the company first.
It started early for Kathy. One of seven grandchildren from her father's side, she was the one who loved following her grandfather, then vice president of Schaefer Plumbing. While other girls her age were consumed with fashion, Kathy immersed herself in a passion for construction.
"Other girls wanted to play with Barbie. I wanted to build Barbie's house," Kathy explained.
Before joining EHA in 2008, Kathy worked as a field assistant. But she'll tell you her current role of juggling whatever tasks the day presents for EHA is what she loves most, and in doing her part to help EHA continue to build dream project after project.
That's if you get a second of her time to ask her.
